Menopause

Every day in the United States 3,500 women enter menopause. Menopause is defined as no menstrual cycle for 12 consecutive months. However, symptoms typically start to show up 10 years before actual menopause. The normal age for menopause is between 35 and 55. Typical symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, mood swings, depression, irritability, anxiety and a whole host of other minor symptoms. Recent research indicates that menopause is often instrumental in the onset of major diseases such as heart disease, cancer and alzheimers disease.

Treatment programs in the past have usually been prescribed by gynecologists and included synthetic hormones. Although many women have positive effects from these hormone treatments, two major problems have been proven to occur. First, synthetic hormones are not a direct match for a woman’s natural hormones. As a result, a safer approach appears to be bioidentical hormones. These natural hormones are an exact match to a woman’s own pre-menopausal hormones. Secondly, because gynecologists are specialists, they often do not treat all the hormones that need to be treated. Typically, these people only treat sex hormones including estrogens, progesterone and testosterone. It has been proven that with age, women need to balance many more hormones including estrogens, testosterone, progesterone, DHEA, cortisol, insulin, thyroid, melatonin, pregnenolone, and prolactin.

Furthermore, because menopause impacts many body and brain functions, LexiLife practitioners conduct full brain and body treatments. Brain neurotransmitters, metabolic system, cardiovascular system, immune system, muscles and bones are all reviewed and treated if necessary for menopause patients. As a result, you will optimize your health and help to protect against Alzheimer’s disease, osteoporosis, cancer and heart disease.
